PeaElAre and I both agreed that this was probalby the best album with which to kick off this blog! There were many great bands in the 90s but the Prayer Chain was one of the most creative and interesting bands out there. The music had a great raw feel to it, they sung about interesting topics and at the end of their run they generally couldn't stand each other (or at least they couldn't stand their singer, Tim Tabor).
Released in 1993, Shawl was not the Prayer Chain's first album but it highlighted their shift from moody guitar music to flat-out rock in dropped-D tuning.

Awesome. I know I'm getting old when all the good xian music was from the "good old days".
